Transport in Middle East and to South-western Asia or from the countries within these regions requires a special problem solving competence and a good network. Land transport has gained importance here and competes with sea freight in cost terms, as the relevant ports offer only inadequate and often interrupted domestic connections due to the political and economic conditions.<\/p>\n

Thus, Turkey gained importance as a transit country, for direct truck-land transport and onward carriages<\/a> of containers<\/a> as well as for transhipment of goods for the provision of Iraq, Syria <\/strong>and other eastern countries like Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Turkmenistan<\/strong>. Turkey enjoys a long-term growth and expansion of logistics. It has been still benefitted due to crises in Syria and in Iraq and instability of the routes due to it, which were temporarily led via Jordanian port Aqaba into the interior of Iraq. Turkey’s capacity as a transit country has recently increased further due to the growing activity of carriers in neighboring countries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
