EUROPEANS IN MALAYSIA
Those residing in Malaysia describe it as one of the most hospitable regions globally. State-of-the-art facilities, excellent healthcare, and top-notch leisure facilities speak for themselves – often at costs lower than in Europe. For entry into Malaysia, European citizens do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days, provided their passport remains valid for at least six months beyond the duration of their visit. Sabah and Sarawak usually grant only 30-day stays, necessitating timely extension requests if required. Extensions beyond 90 days require approval.
VISAS
Various visa options exist for Malaysia, including the Visit Pass, Short Term Social Visit Pass, Student Pass, Long Term Social Visit Pass, and Employment Pass. The Visit Pass caters to foreigners seeking professional visits lasting up to twelve months, such as jockeys, producers, or actors.
- Short Term Social Visit
The Short Term Social Visit Pass is issued for specific stays, such as participation in seminars or sports competitions.
- Student Pass
The Student Pass is for those pursuing education at any level in Malaysia, including private and public schools, language and training centers, as well as private and public higher education institutions.
- Long Term Social Visit
The Long Term Social Visit Pass covers temporary stays of at least six months, with possible extensions subject to prior application.
- Employment Pass
The Employment Pass is for issuing identification to skilled professionals requiring approval from the Expatriate Committee (EC). Ideally, the process should be facilitated through the employing company.
- Visitor’s Pass and MMH2 Visa
Additionally, there are the Visitor’s Pass and MMH2 Visa, with detailed information available on the Malaysian Immigration Department’s website. Those opting for migration to Malaysia should submit the approval application before entry.
