It is mainly carried out via the seaports Guayaquil, Esmeraldas, Manta and the port of Posorja. Most of the ports operate several categories of ships.
The Republic of Ecuador is not a member of the European Union (EU) and does not belong to its customs area. For commercial transportation in the third country, you require a commercial invoice and an EORI-Number.
Handling of Goods – Facts and Figures
For a merchandise value above 1,000 €, an export declaration is necessary. If the goods are coming from the EU, a reference certificate should be produced. Many product groups such as fats and oils require an import licence. For cosmetics and medicines, certificates of free sale are necessary. For a merchandise value of 6,000 € and above, commercial invoice, export declaration, declaration of origin and movement certificate EUR.1 should be submitted.
