KAZAKHSTAN – LAND OF NOMADS AND WILD BEAUTY
Kazakhstan is located in the center of the Eurasian continent. Here, where Asia and Europe literally connect, entire worlds converge. With an area of 2,724,900 square kilometers, Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country on Earth. The republic stretches from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains in the east. With its size, Kazakhstan is a country that awakens a spirit of adventure. The mysterious landscapes full of wild beauty have captivated many explorers. Species-rich national parks, endless steppe expanses, and magical lake landscapes make up the incredibly diverse face of the country. As large as the country and as diverse as its landscapes is also the local flora and fauna. According to official figures, Kazakhstan is home to more than 150 different mammal species – including the rare saiga antelopes, wild sheep, and the elusive snow leopards, which have been endangered for years. In Kazakhstan, visitors can travel for days without encountering another soul – pure luxury in our hectic and fast-paced world.

Interesting Facts
Only 15 million people live in a country that is one of the largest and at the same time least densely populated countries in the world. This includes not only the Kazakhs themselves but also Russians, Georgians, Uzbeks, Germans, and Azerbaijanis. They all live in a state characterized by vast steppes on one side and modern cities on the other. In addition to the Russian language, which, despite over 25 years of independence, is still the official language, they all share legendary hospitality. In Kazakhstan, it is a tradition to receive and entertain guests with incredible warmth. It is not uncommon for visitors to be invited to dinner by a new acquaintance – a wonderful opportunity to get to know the country and its people even better. At the same time, such a meal offers the chance to taste typical Kazakh cuisine. The national dish is Beschbarmak, which consists of meat and noodles. It is eaten by hand, and usually accompanied by cow, camel, or mare’s milk. Also very popular is Tschak Tschak: these are fried dough strips served with honey. Every meal is rounded off with a hot tea.
